Hi Everyone!

This week I am starting a series of simple home beautification projects that are easy to do, but have a big impact! My goal with this series is to help you make your home the home of your dreams. Your dream home may not be as far away as you think. Maybe all your home needs is a wardrobe change!

The first method I want to talk about is using mouldings. Now I know that adding moulding may not seem like a big deal, but it really is. You can do so much with some simple mouldings! Once you start layering moldings, the possibilities and outcomes are astounding! All you really need is some inspiration and the time to put together a configuration that speaks to you.

Something that might make it easier, is to pick out some of your favorite mouldings at the hardware store and just get 1 foot of each to take home (most stores will let you buy moulding by the foot). Be sure to get a good mix of simple and elaborate, thick and thin, crown and trim. Then you can mix and match at your own leisure instead of feeling rushed because one of the kids is having a meltdown at the store. Plus, when you're ready to do your next moulding project (and trust me you will want to do more than 1 project), you'll already have materials handy to plan it out.

Here are 12 things that you can do to make your home stand out from the rest using mouldings!

I adore the columns and moulding and ceiling trim, it ads depth to teh room. I would do a darker wood on the floors.

Decor Tip: Put trim on your ceiling in the outline of your crown moulding. Then paint up to the edge to create the illusion of a higher ceiling!
